the banner throughout the town announcing the chile festival

Ok, I had to post this sign on the blog:)

chile peppers were hanging everywhere!

chiles on the rooftops!

multicolored chile peppers?!

fun at the festival!
-We had a great time today. I happened to hear about the Chile Festival in Hatch, NM this past week so we decided to take a trip to join the festivities. It was so much fun. The day was full of laughter and food sampling (i.e. chile mangos, jalepeno lemonade, green chili cheese chicken, & of course sampling of chiles!). We actually bought a box of freshly roasted green chiles & the aroma of the festival remained in the car for the entire drive home. If you are in southern New Mexico next year, I recommend that you check out the festival over Labor Day Weekend - very enjoyable!
